Topological phases in condensed matter physics

September 7 to September 11, 2003

at the

American Institute of Mathematics, San Jose, California

organized by

Michael Freedman, Chetan Nayak, and Zhenghan Wang

Original Announcement

This workshop This workshop, sponsored by AIM and the NSF, will explore the interface between topological quantum field theory and solid state physics. We will study which "topological phases" might be physically realized and how they might be detected and finally manipulated. The workshop will bring together researchers in physics, mathematics and computer science.
