Professor Gerald Alexanderson, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Professor Alexanderson is formerly Chair of the
Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Santa Clara University
and
recently President of the Mathematical Association of America.
Gunnar Carlsson is Professor of Mathematics at Stanford University.
He has served as Chair of the Stanford Mathematics Department, and
has been on the faculty of the University of Chicago, University of
California (San Diego), and Princeton University.
John Fry, Secretary.
Mr. Fry is also founder and CEO of Fry's Electronics.
Dr. Harry J. Saal was the founder and CEO of Network General Corporation, the
first company wholly dedicated to the area of network diagnostics. Currently he
serves as Chairman of the Board of Imaging Technologies Corporation, a San
Diego-based company which supplies embedded products to the networked office
and pre-press markets. Dr. Saal served as founding CEO and President of Smart
Valley, Inc., a non-profit organization chartered to create a regional
electronic community based on an advanced information infrastructure and the
collective ability to use it.
He is active in philanthropy and community affairs, most recently serving as
the Chairman of the Community Foundation Silicon Valley, from whom he received
the 1996 Corporate Community Involvement Award. As well, he serves on the
boards of several other private and public high technology firms. Ernst & Young
named Dr. Saal the Bay Area 1990 Software Entrepreneur of the Year.
Stephen Sorenson, President.
Mr. Sorenson is also a Director at Fry's Electronics. He previously worked
in R&D at Advanced Micro Devices, and recently managed a non-profit research
institute.
