Rationale
As part of AIM's commitment to education of outstanding young mathematicians
we offer the AIM Five-Year Fellowship. This award is intended for
an absolutely first-rate new PhD - someone with the potential
to leave a lasting mark on Mathematics.
Stipend
The Fellowship will support one outstanding new PhD
pursuing research in an area of pure mathematics.
It will cover 60 months full-time research as well
as funds for travel and equipment.
The compensation is $4,000 per month.
The travel and equipment portion is limited
to $4,000 per year.
Eligibility
This Fellowship is for new PhDs: candidates expecting to
receive a PhD in the year 2008 are eligible to apply.
Application Procedure
An application consists of a cover letter, a vita,
3 letters of reference, and a research plan.
